A park designed in memory of the musician Jan Johansson in the grounds of the former Apoteks Park in Söderhamn. On a large surface of bound gravel the artist installed 12 light wells and filled them with glass balls that reflect the sunlight. During winter, the heating-coil encircling the light wells melts the snow. The park can be experienced and used in different ways. One can gaze into the resplendent light wells or admire them from a distance; in winter time one can warm up next to the heat radiating from the wells; and the graded foundation is suitable for summertime concerts and performances.
Public permanent work/park commissioned by Söderhamn Municipality and the National Public Art Council Sweden. The work/park was produced in collaboration with landscape architect Anders Mårsén, NOD AB.
